1) Quando e come hai iniziato a cucire e a stampare?
Mi sembra intorno ai quattordici anni, quando ho scoperto la tecnica dello screen printing a scuola. Mia nonna mi ha insegnato a cucire quando avevo circa dieci anni
I think it was about 14, when I was first introduce to screen printing at school. I was much younger with sewing as my granny showed me when I was about ten years old.
2) Cosa ti aspettavi quando hai aperto il blog?
Non so cosa mi aspettassi, pensavo fosse solo un buon modo per registrare cose di me stessa, del mio lavoro e di quello a cui ero interessata. Non pensavo certo che qualcun'altro potesse seguirlo!
I'm not sure I knew - I Just felt it could be a good record for myself of the work I was doing and what I was interested in. I don't think I ever really thought others follow it!
3) Cosa non hai realizzato fino ad ora e perchè?
Non avrei mai immaginato di arrivare fino a quì, ho studiato musica per sei anni al collegio musicale, pianoforte e violino; ho insegnato musica per quattordici anni. Chi immaginava che avrei scritto e pubblicato libri? Sono incredibilmente fortunata e grata per la vita che ho.
I never imagined I'd be ever doing what I'm doing now as I trained as a musicians- I studied the violin and piano at music colleg for six years and the taught music for fourteen years. I also didn't know I'd ever be asked to write some books or get my work published. I'm incredibly lucky and grateful for the life I have.
4) Cosa ti ispira?
Mi inspirano i disegni semplici degli anni sessanta e settanta. Adoro lo stile scandinavo, ceramiche e tessuti; Marimekko per esempio è uno dei miei preferiti.
I'm inspired by simple design from the '60 and '70s. Ilike Scandinavian ceramics and fabrics and love the fabrics produced by Marimmekko in Finland
5) Immaginati fare qualcos'altro ...
Ho sempre desiderato creare semplici gioielli d'argento. Mi piacerebbe realizzare per esempio quei grandi e scultorei anelli che ricordano lo stile degli anni sessanta e settanta, come i designer danesi!
I've always wanted to make simple silver jewellery. I would make large sculpural rings and pendants, reminiscent of ones from he '60 and '70s- like Danish designers!
